Barbara has over 20 years’ experience of creating bespoke formulations in the natural cosmetic industry. Trained as a classical aromatherapist under the renowned Robert Tisserand, who pioneered the use of natural fragrances, Barbara works as a consultant with many premium clients developing a wide array of award-winning skincare. She is passionate about the benefits of authentically effective and therapeutic skincare & believes that cosmetic ingredients should only be used in formulations if they have a genuine reason to be there, not just because they are new or fashionable. Barbara’s mantra is creating formulas that benefit the skin & environment, whilst adhering to the principle that ultimately skincare should bring pleasure to the user.
Working with Barbara has been a fantastically creative and organic process from the start. The ability to have such skincare experts at your finger tips is a dream when wanting to create a new product or add extra benefits to an existing favourite. The training provided is like no other skincare range as the therapists are actually learning first hand from the product developer and aromatherapist. Training often involves demo’s of the creation of a product and allows the therapy team to build on their confidence and knowledge of working with natural and organic ingredients. CREATE
Barbara uses her extensive and well-researched knowledge of natural fragrances and pure cosmetic ingredients to create and formulate complete skincare ranges. Her aim is to feed and nurture the skin effectively whilst at the same time, paying respect to the environment by using ingredients and artisan methods that create high-quality performance formulations. Barbara has developed an intuitive smell memory that enables her to create complex aromas that become fragrances and aromatic signature notes in their own right. This combined with her knowledge of natural cosmetic ingredients allows her to formulate skincare with beautiful aromas and proven skin benefits.
THE PROCESS
If you choose to work with Barbara to create your range you will have a series of one to one meetings with her to discuss your brand and skincare vision in detail. Barbara will then formulate samples for you, of your chosen products and aromas so that you can evaluate them in detail. This process will continue until the formulations meet with your full approval. Barbara is also development director of natural skincare solutions ltd a company based in the south west of England who provide a full manufacturing service. You can choose to work with Natural Skincare Solutions to manufacture your range or you have the option to take your developed formulations to an alternative manufacturer.

She has developed complete spa ranges, high-performance skincare, baby products, certified organic skincare, natural candles and home fragrancing.
